We'll be selling shuttles from RSL at this years tournie at the very nice price of 120kr, so no need to bring your own ;)
There will unfortunately not be any restringing service available.
If anyone is travelling by car from Denmark / Germany (or another cheap country ^^) and have some extra space in the car
it would be great if you could buy some stuff for us there (cheese/ham/pate). Just send Jeanette an email :)
We're also still looking for a volunteer to help us with a nightshift - details below.
August is almost here, so time for a little update.
We've got 174 registered players, which is incredible! It's also a new record for the Norwegian ISBT, so everything's looking great so far.
Just a few more details with regards to the program and general stuff.
Program details:
Wednesday:
Registration will be open from 18ish to 22ish. Anyone arriving later than 22 please let us know beforehand
(or if you're delayed) so we can confirm the entries and get started on the draws.
The tournament fee is 600 NOK and must be paid in cash during registration.
There are no meals provided on Wednesday, but the cafeteria will be open in the evening.
Thursday:
We'll be going out in Tønsberg after dinner, and because the venue normally is for 20+ we need to know who in your teams are under 20 –
they'll still get in, but they want to know how many there are.
Friday:
Beach after lunch if the weather is nice.
There will also be some games etc in the evening – more info on this will be in the program at arrival,
but we're announcing one of them now since it requires some planning ;)
Rubik's cube: the rules will be explained later, but everyone needs wear an
item of clothing in each of the cube's colors on on Friday in order to play.
That is: red, orange, yellow, white, green and blue – a minimum of 6 items of clothing each.
Saturday:
Theme party and awards ceremony in the evening.
This year's theme is: Hollywood and the Academy Awards.
More details on the theme are available below
Sunday:
Breakfast and departures - everyone has to be out of the sportshall by 12.
General info:
- Please check that the details on the Participants page are correct, especially in
regards to the meals! We need to know who wants vegetarian meals each day as we'll be ordering the food in a week or so.
- Alcohol restrictions in Norway: the legal age for drinking wine and beer is 18, while you need to be over 20 to drink spirits.
This applies especially at the venue on Thursday, but also in the event of a check by the police etc at the sportshall.
So if you're under 20, do not be found anywhere near spirits. We also need a list of everyone under 20 for the venue on Thursday.
- Remember to bring sleepingbags and mattresses as there will not be any available in the sportshall
- Travel details are here and include the address of the sportshall.
- We're looking for volunteers to help us out a bit during the tournament. We need 2 people for nightshifts and any help during
mealtimes and/or for the cafeteria is also appreciated. Anyone volunteering for a nightshift plus a meal each day (thurs – sat)
will get free entry into the tournament.

It's that time of year again, and you're just about to plan the next stop for the summer holidays: the Norwegian ISBT!
Not a badminton player? Don't despair, you've still got time to grab a racket, find a club and get ready for this year’s tournament!
This year's ISBT will be the 16th in a row organized in Slagenhallen in Tønsberg, Norway. The tournament is a great opportunity to meet players from all over Europe and at all levels from fresh beginners (D class) to national players (A class). The tournament will be held on August 13th to 17th, where the Wednesday is for arrivals and registration and Sunday for clearing up and departure. The tournament itself is played over three days from Thursday till Saturday in Swiss Ladder style, giving everyone 4 matches each day in two categories. In addition we organize parties on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and great fun will be had by all!

This year's theme is Hollywood and the Academy Awards!
The idea behind the theme is that each of the teams dresses out in costumes inspired by Hollywood itself or an award winning movie for the Saturday night party. The team with the most creative costumes will be rewarded.
Some wiki pages for inspiration:
Hollywood
Academy Awards (popularly known as the Oscars)
Award winning films
Take a look at the invitation which includes more details and a schedule.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us! Send us an e-mail at isbt.norway@gmail.com or write on the forum.
Remember to register before June 1st.
Hope to see you all in August!
